This + this helped me out a lot. It's nice to deep clean your ears every few weeks or so.
I posted below. This is a product my husband has been using about 4 years. They use them at the pediatrician office even. We put 1/2 water 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and they flush right out.

I feel your pain. Elephant Ear Wash is the better solution. 1/2 water, 1/2 hydrogen peroxide, microwave for 30 seconds so it's a little warm. The wax will fall out very quickly.
