A Eurolite LP case would be a good option. Just make sure that you lock it with a TSA-approved lock (so the retards at Airport Security don't cut it off), and you should be good to go.

Are you close to an Ikea? Their little Expedit unit will hold 200 - 250 records. And you can put your turntable on top of it :)
If you were searching for something more like a box, that you can transport, how about a couple of flight cases. They come in handy when you have to move.
Budget portable fully enclosed hard storage cases? I am willing to spend money but want the most bang for buck. Ill need space for 50 LPs with sleeves and outer poly bags

My wife and I move around a lot. Because we have a dog and a 2 yr old space in our car is incredibly limited. Therefore my records will probably have to go with the moving company.

I use a combination of these for my Zombicide seasons 1-3. I own one of everything made for the game (each retail and promo item) and got it to fit in two of the LP cases and I believe ten of the Plano cases.
I plan to do the same for Black Plague, but I need to come up with something for the extra large "boss monster" figures.
