If you're set on an actual gift, everyone loves flashlights. They come in handy and get used constantly. Something like the Streamlight Stylus is great idea accompanied by a hand written letter would be great.

Something like this. They're a hair over a dollar each, and with included batteries.
This is a little nicer at about two dollars a pop.
There are some keychain lights that are much cheaper, but I think it'd be better if the power button latched on. Also NiMH batteries will have a longer runtime, but that's more expense.
