Looks like the end of a straplock for a guitar strap. Missing the nut though.

I understand this works for some people but I like to remove my straps quite often. $10 for strap locks isn't much money. Hell, if you buy a decent guitar be it from a store or 2nd hand most of the time they either have them on it (2nd hand) or you can make the shop toss them in for free.

Buttons cost like a buck or two each. I wouldn't resort to 4 USD so-so solution when a durable one doesn't cost that much.
