This biography on Sherman is really good and it's super interesting and not incredibly dry like some biographies can get!

It's about the only small biography I've read that I could recommend to you! But if you are willing to try something bigger try Robert Dallek's. An Unfinished Life: John F. Kennedy 1917-1963. It's big but very good!
