Go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby and get an album (3 ring types are my preference but the post-bound kind are more common.)

For paper, Michaels sells pads of themed paper, often for cheap. Any kind of card stock will work. You can also look for loose sheets at HL, Michaels, or even Walmart or JoAnns.

Something she’ll likely need is a good pair of scissors (ie Fiskars) and a paper slicer.

Lots of craft shops sell cutesy stickers and embellishments. I find the alphabet stickers to be pretty useful for putting titles on certain pages.

The only other thing she will absolutely need is a way to attach photos to the paper. There are several ways to do this. Whatever you choose, just make sure it’s photo-safe so you don’t wind up damaging your prints. This is what I use.

Good luck!

I really need to replace my paper trimmer. I currently have a different brand but I'm not getting nice clean cuts anymore. This one allows me to replace the blades as needed. I'm trying to get my holiday crafts done and this will be kaput by the time I'm done.

Thanks for contest!

Thanks! I didn't keep track, but probably something around 15 - 20 hours. Much longer than I thought they would.

This is the advice I would give after my mistakes:

  • Take your design to a professional printer and have them print and cut for you. It's cheaper than the ink it costs to print from home and they end up better quality.
  • Only have them printed after everything is 100% set in stone. Our venue changed after the first round of printing :(
  • Invest in a paper cutter.
  • Make prototypes and show them to family members so they can double check spelling and alignment of everything.

You have two main options:

  1. Find a borderless printer to use (probably not feasible)
  2. Print it with the white border and spend 5 minutes with one of these

Fuck hallmark.

Where do you live? There is more than likely at least one scrap booking store within a 20 minute drive, and they will be more than equipped to help you shop. If she already owns certain things, look and get a feel for what she has (markers, little gizmos, etc.) so that you can point them in a better direction when you get there.

I have family that scrapbook, and gifts depend on the price range. If you wanna spend more money bitches love these things, and if not then you can stick to stuff like these.

If you have anymore questions let me know, I can ask the people who actually do it.
