I've rather enjoyed my keyboard. Works perfectly for me, has a little bit of flair (Blue keys, blue lights), and media buttons for changing volume and such on the fly.

I didn't spend much on the set of peripherals since I put about 800-900 into my gaming pc this year, and hell I think I'm quite fine with them as is.

The next thing I change will be my speakers or mouse, most likely. Logitech, even their cheaper speakers, are pretty good- but I'd love some great sounding music. Maybe a 2.1 or 3.1 setup.

It should be possible with your budget to get stronger hardware. Like this build:

This gives you $108 to get keyboard, mouse and headset (and wifi card if you really need one), which should be enough if you go with cheaper options like https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-High-Definition-Optical-Tracking-GM-M6800/dp/B0083EZE4M and https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-KU-0833-Wired-Keyboard/dp/B005EOWBHC/ for mouse and keyboard. You get a stronger cpu and gpu, both will be nice for gaming, which I assume this will be used for. If that's not enough also just getting a 500GB SSD would work, or you could get the Dell Monitor.

If you do not buy right now upgrade the gpu to a Radeon RX 5700 (but a partner card with better cooler).

Out of those four I would go with the M40, the only issue I can think with it is that you say you want a less silly mouse and the M40 is borderline silly. But like every thread, I ought to recommend the G502.

If you want to go way under your budget have a look at the Gigabyte M6880, it has only 2 extra buttons, but feels suprisingly nice to hold, and great for palm gripping.

I have a refurbished M90 (which, after much arguing about the shoddy condition of the refurb, they eventually replaced with a refurb M95 at no cost). Absolutely love Corsair mice - both the M90 and M95. Perfect size, weight, and materials. Soft grip surface has held up tremendously well, and the thing looks pristine after a quick wipedown with a microfiber rag every couple weeks. Not crazy about Corsair's support team, if you happen to draw the short straw on the refurb lottery.

Ordering this M45 for my dad for Christmas, as it pains me to see him try to use his wireless Logitech right next to the router and have the connection drop out every 5 seconds. Though he doesn't do any gaming, I'd at least like to up his browsing experience. Was going to go with this Gigabyte wired mouse for $14 on Amazon, but I'll take this any day over that. Plus, the surfaces should hold up better. Plastic grip mice have a tendency to get that old "shiny fingerprint area" mouse look, where the paint/coat rubs off - not too classy.

In that case, I strongly suggest looking into a 1440p monitor that can push 144hz, and has Freesync (or gsync if going Nvidia).

It's what I did, and gaming is pure fucking bliss now.

I bought the benq 27 xl2730z with my 470 Nitro 8gb, and haven't looked back. Obviously, that might be more than you're willing to spend, but you can find a solid monitor for about $300 one way or another.

Monitor+peripherals is what makes PC gaming top notch. I suggest looking into logitech mice, or this little gem for $10-15

A good keyboard will do you wonders. For that, I suggest a cherry MX red keyboard for FPS gaming, or MX brown for typing/gaming.

I'm using the 6800 right now, and was in a similar situation you were, with only using typical office mice previously.

So far, the only noticeable difference is the bigger grip and higher DPI (it's equipped with a sensitivity switch, but I rarely use it. The M4/5 buttons on the side are convenient, both in gaming and everyday use. Overall, it's barely a step above typical office mice, but I'm pretty satisfied with it so far. It was worth the $15.

I had a TeckNet Raptor. The buttons felt cheap and miss-clicked a lot with my grip. Also didn't like the metal feel of the mouse. I also had a Gigabyte GM-M6800 (http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-High-Definition-Optical-Tracking-GM-M6800/dp/B0083EZE4M/). If you just want a normal mouse for everyday use it's good +its ergonomic. The only problem are the side rubbers that may fall off.

If you want you can save 30$ and get a much better mouse but it's up to you. If you want to keep it cheap and have the 2 side buttons the cougar is a great choice. I wouldn't buy any of these you linked since there are better choices for the same price and from brands with better build quality.

The side buttons are binded for page forward/backward by default but you can change that with a program named x-mouse.

Try the Mazer, Zalmann, or Gigabyte

I recently got a refurbished Corsair M60 mouse and I love it. It feels and works great. It cost $35 with free shipping, though that's a little over you price range.

I also have large hands, currently am using a DeathAdder 2013 but before that I had a cheap gigabyte mouse that is big and feels great in hand, also it's great for FPS

NOTE: I changed to DeathAdder because I wanted to get a better mouse, the Gigabyte one is still alive.
