Properly sharpened scissors are as sharp as razor blades. Shouldn't take much, if any pressure to cut through stuff. I think in this generation a lot of people just grew up around cheap shit and didn't get taught by their Dad's how to sharpen stuff. Thank god for youtube!

Also, it's strange that you think the scissors are an "old design." There's no magical new design with scissors.

The exact same style is sold today, and is widely used by people who need to cut stuff a lot. And yes, you sharpen them.
