There are little dolls called Nendoroids that he might like. Something like this. I'd make sure (s)he's interested in them first. I'm a big Vocaloid fan, but I'm not into any of the non-music stuff at all.

I ordered it from Amazon here from a seller called Innovation Shop Japan which had 100% positive feedback. No bootleg complaints in the reviews.
It looks fine to me, just was a bit concerned because the build is unlike the only other Nendoroid I have at the moment, which is Onodera Kosaki. By "unlike" I just mean it seems a tad lower quality, and it just seemed to me that some of the joints were a bit uncharacteristically loose. Also, I had one heck of a time getting the support to go into her back properly. In fact, the plastic that holds the peg to the rest of the support is very loose. It can quite easily pull out of her back leaving the peg in there, not connected to the support. Obviously not too much of an issue for a figure you don't touch.
I think what I'm dealing with here is an authentic, older build of Nendoroid that I'm not used to and I'm probably just being paranoid. Anyway, let me know what ya'll think.
