Green Rider is one I haven't seen mentioned yet that has a Mary Sue lead character.

So first, I hope anyone caught in this storm is staying safe and warm! The pressure system gave me an awful migraine yesterday.

In case anyone is looking for a new fantasy series, I just finished the last Green Rider book and it was pretty good. I like the entire series, although I do wish the author would just wrap the damn things up at this point. Whatever happened to the good ol' days when the world was saved in a trilogy?

If sci-fi is more your jam, try Starship: Mutiny, especially if you like Mass Effect, because the main character is pretty much a renegade MaleShep. Four books in this series, I think.

I'm sorry about the lack of quality content lately, but I'm still at my sister's, and my computer is in pieces while my brother-in-law fixes it. Will probably head home either tomorrow or Friday, weather and health depending.

The last good book I read was The Diamond Age (or A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer) by Neal Stephenson. It was a phenomenal read given that it was published in 1995 and yet predicts our current society of tablets, cell phones, email, and 3D printers :)

Green Rider was one of my fave fantasy books as a kid and I haven't read it in years. I recently realized that there's a whole slew of sequels and I really want to read it again and this time read through the whole series!

As for book recs, I read The Golden Compass for the first time when I was 8 and adorrrrred it. If your kids are big readers, I recommend that!

Def Green Rider Series. It gets more complicated as series goes on and all the characters are well fleshed out. You actually care what happens to all them not just main character.Has magic and swordfights ghosts and best part is the villians arent evil for sake being evil. You can really sympathize with them while still hating them.
