It's really interesting, I just finished reading this book by a German author that talks a lot about it. It's pretty funny too!

I mean, it's also a little worrying what with the idea that antibiotics could soon become ineffective, but gotta focus on the positives eh!

I learned the antibodies fact from a book called Gut. It's not a baby book, but it was written by an MD and was a top seller in the UK. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1771641495/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474309962&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=gut+giulia+enders&dpPl=1&dpID=51HH54qlRPL&ref=plSrch

I am going to try bicycling too! Hope he is feeling better.

If you're interested in going into more of the nuances in this video there is a book based on these ideas called "GUT" by Enders (who does great science!) https://www.amazon.ca/Gut-Inside-Story-Bodys-Underrated/dp/1771641495

Martin J. Blaser MD wrote a great book called Missing Microbes which has more of the story about H. pylori and it's research, as well as about the gut biome in general.

I also highly recommend

Gut by Julia Enders For an interesting overview of the Gut and it's working.

The Mind-Gut Connection As a side perspective on some of the same topics.

I'll also say that this parable is a beloved by the Gut research community in what I've read so far, even if it is a bit of a fable. (Not being the first to find it, and there being more to the story.)

Edit: Formatting.

I'm so sorry about the Eckhart Tolle business, if it makes you feel any better, he would be the first to not approve of pushing his books onto people, especially instead of getting medical help! I always get all the diagnostic tests first, his book just helped me with my anxiety, but that's it! :)

The article on the website which discusses how she cured gastroparesis is also all about her mindset, so if you've had enough of that so far, I suggest you rather look into her practical advice, which is her gastroparesis recipes and shakes and meal replacements and daily routines etc etc... I bought her book of gp recipes, since it was easier than looking them up every time, but I think there are many on her website as well...

As for probiotics, yeah, unfortunately the bastards are not cheap. Especially since you're not sure if they will work. I buy mine from German Amazon (but they have them on American Amazon as well), since I live in Europe, and I buy Bio-Kult Advanced Multistrain Formula, 120 capsules. There are soooo many debates about what probiotic companies are actually good quality, and it's always a risk (will there be live bacteria etc), but these seem to have helped me a lot. They have two out of the three strains for IBS. Take them on an empty stomach, and don't eat for a while after. I took one in the morning for about two months.

If I can bug you with one more link, this is a good book about it all, written by a doctor (that is not selling anything). She explains the science behind some gut issues, and little ways to make them better (she explains the different strains of probiotics for example); if you're strapped for cash, I'm sure they have it in a library or in used books stores, it is quite a popular book:

First off congrats on the progress so far.

I'm a very big fan of IF so glad it has worked for you.

Just reading your post, I would like to suggest you research gut health, here's a good book to start:

IBS and associated symptoms could be an issue with bacteria in the gut. Good luck!
