I hear you on the trolls though, I've run into people who never make mistakes and it's always the rest of the team dragging them down. Sucks when you get more than 2 of them on your own team, I just plod ahead and pick objectives I can deal with on my own when that happens.
You can use the PlaysStation app for text input. But I don't think you can trigger the input in-game though. It would be nice, though.
You can also get a PS4 controller keyboard for like $17 on Amazon. But I feel you on the whole not wanting to buy additional hardware.
