If you want a solid system with mobile viewing, I would recommend Dahua. They sell 8 channel NVRs, all with remote viewing capabilities. Maintaining a system with both analog and IP systems requires a hybrid DVR, something which Hikvision manufactures. There should be smartphone support.
Now, if you want to go a bit more expensive, Speco technologies manufactures an 8 channel hybrid DVR, which I would highly recommend you check out.
They're just 720p analog cameras. Just a quick search shows this one handles up to 1080.
There's no proprietary stuff going on here, you just want hd-over-coax. You can get the one I linked for 8 channels with 2TB storage for less than $500.
If money is an issue you could go with a Hikvision like this one
HIKVision also has a DDNS server so you can set it up to watch from anywhere. They're a Chinese company though, so don't buy it if you don't want the Chinese to see what's on your cameras.
