I love Contracts, the atmosphere and music make for a very tense Hitman game. If you want to play it on newer platforms, purchase the Hitman HD Trilogy (also on PS3.)

Hitman contracts is partially a remake of the first Hitman so that's all you need. Play 2, then contracts, then blood money. Hitman Absolution is significantly different than the others and can be skipped IMHO, but the new hitman is episodic so you can get started for 15 dollars.
