From his post, this looks to be a way of using your G7 for recording with your PC...
Elgato HD60
Micro HDMI-HDMI cable
A power adapter so your G7 can stay on all that time (maybe one of these? https://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Panasonic-DMC-G70W-DMC-G70H-DMC-G70K/dp/B016AESEDY/ref=pd_sim_23_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B016AESEDY&pd_rd_r=64a1e5ca-ba7d-11e8-be59-db2f2d1fb2cc&pd_rd_w=8JA8r&pd_rd_wg=XPP3y&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=56838e6b-66d4-41e0-a762-743f1a1a628a&pf_rd_r=BAV4Y116WDDG6ZDTGEDH&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=BAV4Y116WDDG6ZDTGEDH)

Battery life on the g7 isn't that great compared to others I can get around 3-4 hours of recording 1080 before I wanna change the battery to be safe.
You can try this product out but I haven't used it and don't know if there are any negative consequences of using this battery pack in the camera: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016AESEDY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_eYf4wb3B5KEWC
This coupler is the only one I've read about working on this subreddit. I ordered one and it arrived in 2 weeks, looking exactly like in the picture.
I wanted to combine it with a portable battery pack that outputs 7.4v to a little under 9v, 2a but I've had a hell of a time trying to find one that even outputs with anything other than USB plug. Just wanted to find one with a DC out barrel like all the old video cameras use to take, and even those plugs aren't all the same size.
I started thinking about just building one using 18650 lithium ion batteries, but it's just not safe, and with new FAA rules, you couldn't even take it on a plane.
A little later on I came to thinking that the only solution is a portable AC wall socket battery like the kind Blackweb sold. This is where I'm at right now in my thinking.
I do know that someone destroyed their G7 by plugging in a battery pack that had a switch which accidentally jumped from 9v to 19v or something to that effect.
Honestly just got this adapter in the mail last week works like a charm. Even paired it with a 9v external battery, I got this one and I unfortunately had to order a small adapter linked [here] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZDO400?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00). I think i should have gotten a smaller battery because my test the battery lasted 24 hours before shutting off. Also cost me about the same as 2 OEM batteries.
