What a small world it is...one of my professors is married to a guy who spent 18 months in federal prison for bank fraud in Carville, LA, and actually lived alongside people suffering from Hansen's disease. He's a great guy - I met him when I went to a dinner party at my professor's house (which is a totally awesome 150 year old log cabin way out in the woods). His name is Neil White, and he wrote a book about his experiences in Carville called In the Sanctuary of Outcasts, if you are interested in reading it.
