My two cents... Buy a leather case with a cover and a holder for a stylus. Having a magnetic cover makes it more enjoyable to simply close the cover when you're done using it to automatically turn it off (also turns on when you open the cover). It also acts as a stand for video viewing, or if you want to use it in conjunction with a Bluetooth keyboard. I prefer to have one that holds a stylus. This one is the best I've found so far, and I have several cases. It also has a soft suede interior that is nice to hold in your hand when it's folded open and it protects your Nexus 7 when it's closed. I'm very happy with this cover/protector: i-BLASON

Got one of these puppies and it's great. You need to stress the leather a while to get it to a good position, but once it becomes looser it works well.

I have an iKross that I purchased for my Transformer, but end up using the stylus that came with the i-BLASON case. The 'free' stylus is thinner and also doubles as an ink pen.
