This isn't a recommendation for a screen protector but a suggested application method. Most of you on this sub probably already do something similar. I always had trouble getting the screen/protector 100% dust and fingerprint free. Not sure where I heard it but I decided to apply the protector in the bathroom after letting a hot shower steam up the room for a few minutes with no exhaust fan. This weighs down any dust particles and will create a clean work environment.
On a side note I looked for a good tempered glass protector for the wife's pixel 2 and couldn't find one that had full coverage and allowed for a case due to rounded and tiny bezel. For $8 I ended up going with IQ Shield LiQuidSkin Full Coverage Screen Protector for Google Pixel 2

You have to watch a little youtube video of how to up it on but it's by far the best one I've used and it's cheap.
I didn't like any of the tempered glass options, so I went with the IQShield liquidskin

I had a few others before this and I had to return the few because of dot matrixes and other issues. This one, since it's not tempered glass, fits the phone very well. Only negative is that it is rubbery-feeling and I usually can't stand screen protectors that have this feel. But check it out if you're desperate like I am.

To protect from surface scratches, it's a good idea to get one. I highly recommend this one:

It's a wet application, but when it's installed it's almost invisible. I've had it for a few months now and the edges dont show still, and I don't see any scratches anywhere on it yet.
