A Roomba! I have two cats and my husband and I both work... fur everywhere. I have always wanted a Roomba, but, it's not super necessary. I'd rather have the second-most expensive item on my list, the Harry Potter boxed set, because I don't own all the books (!!)!(!)!(!) despite being the biggest fan there is, and the ones I do own are kind of thrashed. THAT I must own.

There is a model for households with pets, which I think works pretty well. My cat has long silky hairs and a dense down-like undercoat, my dog has a brisk, stiff coat and I have long, thick, wavy hair. The Roomba gets everything.
