I would look into Janome, Bernette (which is a less expensive version of Bernina...so nice!), and possible Eversewn. They all have good quality machines that can be used for clothing, quilting etc. Definitely get something that includes a walking/evenfeed foot and a 1/4 in foot. The machine I linked to has both included. I have a Janome similar to this one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Janome-Fully-Featured-Computerized-Buttonholes-Accessories/dp/B01M1IV5PE

95% of sewing machines are suitable for making clothing, that's kinda like saying "I need a car, but I have to be able to get to work in it". If you drive it to work, it's your work conveyance. Do you need a Ford F250 with towing package to drive 20 city miles in standard traffic hauling only you? of course not. I'm trying to help you figure out what kind of better commuter vehicle (sewing machine) is going to suit you. Right now you've got a Kia Rio.

Automatic buttonhole and a bunch of stretch stitches, blind hem, automatic tension. Bonus package in this listing gives you an invisible zipper foot.

Just a few bucks more, but more stitches, walking foot (quilters use these a lot but also awesome for velvet, terry and other thick or piled deep fabrics) plus a bunch of nice stitches.
