There are a few things you can do.
First, keep humidity around 80-90% -- 80% is recommended and anything ~90+ makes mold more likely. If your tank is properly sealed you shouldn't need to mist at all.
Second, you don't need to feed them fresh food, they're scavengers so they actually prefer dried food/organic material. As Christian said, dried food will last a lot longer before developing mold.
Third, next time you switch out the substrate you can moisten it with diluted saltwater, this will help a bit with preventing mold in the substrate or on toys/food where they touch it. Also if you're substrate isn't mostly play sand that would help. You can also just do 100% sand if you're still having mold growth. I recommend diluted saltwater because some people have said if the substrate's too salty it will burn their exo during/after molt. If the mold is only on the food you don't have to do this.
Lastly, if you want to not have to worry about mold so much you can put some springtails in there. I got mine off Amazon. They eat mold and fungus. I just dumped most of them into my substrate -- left a few in the original container in case I needed more and now there's tons in there (poke a few holes in the top and put some leaves/leftover food in there).
As far as if mold is actually harmful or not, I'm not sure. I've heard people say that the spores can clog up their gills, not sure how true that is but it sounds plausible to me. I just deal with any mold growth in case it is bad for them. I haven't seen any mold at all though since I switched to mostly sand and put the springtails in.
