I know what you're talking about, and haven't seen one in donkey ears. I don't think it would be terribly useful on modern band hoseclamps, because they're all hex drive.

there are conduit fitting screwdrivers that are like this. See, for instance, the Klein 85191. I am pretty sure they made (may still) a screwdriver like this, without the reamer.

It's great. It's cheap. Mine was a hand me down.

And if you really wanted to save money or something, I've never tried the Green Lee version but they make perfectly great tools and it's half the price.

I see your point in potential time saving but I don't agree that it's just flat wrong.
