In the interim, I've rigged up being able to use my LG Tone Bluetooth headset, minus the ability to chat, which I don't care much about.

This might already be in the works. I preordered the LucidSound LS15X Wireless Gaming Ear Buds because they [at the time] were going to be the first truly wireless audio solution to directly pair with the Xbox. Sadly, they had to switch to a USB dongle:

What this suggests to me is possible USB audio support.
That said, I would love if I could just plug in a BT 4.0+ adapter and pair any audio (or mouse, or KB) with my Xbox using universal drivers. It's kind of sad that my Xbox 360 had a better wireless headset experience than my X1X has.
