I'm not a heavy grower but I bought a cheap safety razor, like this one, and a bunch of blades, like these, a few years ago and haven't had to rebuy in years.
I'd have to shave for 5 years to be as expensive as a Dollar Shave Club's monthly cost.
If one were to shave daily and replace the blade every time it would cost you £3.65 a year in blades.
This is what you need...

Razor and blades are two separate links.

There’s loads of different blade handles and stuff, you can customise to suit you! The Bamboo one is just my favourite. I’ve had it about a year and no regrets. It’s slightly heavy in the hand at first but you’ll get used to it quickly and then shaving just becomes nice and effortless :)

Best shave you'll have and at £23.00 It's best value.
This will last you 2 years in blades and only have to replace the soap in that time.
I actually started doing this and i prefer it i use a double edged safety razor.

Hey all, I had my first go with a cheapy razor I bought on a whim, along with some cheap blades
Sadly cannot try proper lather as I am allergic to damn near everything and have incredibly sensitive skin. I make do with perscription moisturiser.
Didn't go great, but not terrible either.
What I would like to know is how much does skill/practise factor in to the experience?
And how much of a difference do the more expensive razors and blades make? Is it small incremental improvements or is there a sharp increase once you jump from the cheapest to the first reasonable tier?
Thanks to anyone who sees this :)
