For those of us that loved Band of Brothers, the Pacific and Saving Private Ryan were both made by the same people (Hanks and Spielberg).

They're working together again on a new project based on the book Masters of the Air by Donald Miller, which details WWII bomber crews based in Europe. John Orloff (who wrote 2 episodes for Band of Brothers, "Why We Fight" and "Day of Days") is doing writing for the miniseries. Last I heard, the project is still in the script writing/planning phase. They were scouting locations in February of 2017, but news about this project is pretty hard to come by.

Hah, that cartoon is fantastic!

I just finished reading "Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany". It chronicles the campaign of the B-17s of the 8th Airforce throughout the course of the war. Hell of a read, your grandfather's a lucky guy to have made it through all that.

My own grandfather was in the 82nd airborne starting with Operation Overlord at start of the invasion of Normandy and more or less stayed with the same unit until just before VE day. Unfortunately all of his relics from the war disappeared a long time ago. I've been trying to track them down through the family but no luck yet :-/

If I remember correctly HBO is making a miniseries similar to "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific", but based off the book Masters of the Air

It's directed by Tom Hanks and called The Mighty Eighth

Libro:

Esta semana arranqué con Masters of The Air.

If you want a head start read the book by Donald L. Miller called Masters of the Air (originally titled Eighth Air Force if you want to look for a cheap used copy). It's a great book and is the basis for the TV series.
