Good on you! My first thoughts in thinking of your budget is a decent food processor, which should be in the $20-$30 range. If she's already got knives, maybe a couple of nice cutting boards. Also, you can never have too many wooden spoons, ;) Seriously though, just look for a pack of bamboo ones, and she will not be disappointed.
