Interlocking foam floor tiles (like these) might be a good option. Stick them down when needed, stack and store when not.
You can also try to make them slightly smaller than your actual play space so you can feel when you step off them for extra positional awareness. Also facilitates playing without shoes to stop you damaging the 3-in-1 cable or hurting your foot when you land awkwardly and heavily on it with bare feet / socks.
