I bought this humidor from Amazon and it's pretty solid. All of the humidors you see for sale are made by the same company and imported from China unless you want to spend a lot on a hand-made one. You'll want to get a digital hygrometer too, I have a Xikar one.
For cigars I'd just go to your local brick and mortar store and ask for recommendations. My first cigar was a La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor and I loved it. Don't forget, don't put infused/flavored cigars in your humidor with natural cigars.

Its not really a desktop per we, but
this is a really good humidor that I've had for a while now. Performs outstandingly well given the price point. Ditch the floral foam for Bovedas and you've got a rock solid setup.
