It's been a good and interesting week for us. We're officially back in the ring as far as PIV is concerned and I'm gradually getting a little closer to normal in the way my body reacts.

Having my mother-in-law here has been wonderful. She helped me to figure out the whole breast-pumping thing, so someone else could feed the baby the milk I had pumped and stored. Then, and this was huge, she took charge of the baby and the bottles and made sure we had some uninterrupted private time every single day.

We had planned to alternate days, doing simple massages and cuddles one day, and having sex the next. But Bud's idea of a simple massage always seems to get me really turned on, and he just hates to leave me hanging, so it never seemed to stop there. We still alternated, with PIV every other day, but I ended up having orgasms every day for the whole week! (Yay!)

One ongoing problem we've had is I have a tendency to leak milk during sex and to spurt milk when I come, which makes a mess and wastes milk. Naturally, there has to be a tech solution for that, right?

So visualize us having sex while I'm wearing a bandeau top that holds one of these Breast Milk Collectors firmly on the end of each boob. Each time, between them, they collected a whole ounce, too! :)

Anyway, my husband just left to take my MIL to the airport, and I'm in deep mourning. Making time for sex is going to get a lot harder. 😢

On the plus side, Shakti is coming to visit for a couple of days! Woohoo! I can't wait! ❤️💕

Get a Milkies Milk Saver! It was so wonderful to passively collect all my extra milk from my other boob while baby was nursing :) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HYL9TS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used the hakaa when babe was little and couldn’t kick it off. This milk saver might work for you— it fits right in your bra.

I haven't gotten to try this yet but I can imagine it might work out if you're feeding while wearing a bra or shirt of some sort. Possibly stable enough if tucked inside something.

I use this Milk Saver, which fit nicely in my bra. I would put it on one side while I nursed on the other.
As for random let downs, I use the Medela pads. I like them better than the Lasinoh brand. 6 months in and I could probably take the pads out, but I feel more comfortable having them in...it's no where near as bad as those early weeks!

I love this list, I kept thinking "ditto!" with almost everything you wrote! Because I can't help myself, here is some of my feedback on some of those products:

For boob cream- I loooove the Motherlove Nipple Cream. The Earth Mama Angel Baby one was really grainy to me, and I'm not a big fan of the cocoa butter smell (to each their own!). The Motherlove cream saved my nipples those first few weeks and I still use it after a long pumping session.

Leak management- gurl I feel you on being leaky! I am SO leaky. I love the nighttime Bamboobies, they're the only ones that work for me (and I have to switch them out three times a day). The downside is they're pretty obvious through clothing, so when I have to go out of the house I'll pop a disposable lansinoh one in there instead. But Bamboobies all the way!

Leak Collection!- Yes! The Milkies Milksaver I have has been great at catching the ~1oz I leak from the non-nursing side. Now that Miss V and I have more of a breastfeeding pattern that involves her only eating from one side per session I'm going to try out a Haakaa Silicone Pump to see if the suction will draw out even more ounces from the neglected boob.

Extra Pump Parts- NeneSupply on Amazon is a Spectra pumping girl's best friend, especially for hard-ish to find and expensive spare Spectra parts.

Nursing Bras- They're expensive but I'm a total Bravado fanatic. I'm a big girl and they carry a wide variety of sizes, even for the much bigger bust sizes. And they recently released this hands free pumping attachment that, the few times I've experimented with it, was freaking awesome. I hope it continues to be awesome when I go back to work!

Edit:
Oh! I forgot one of my favorite pumping accessories! The Pumpin' Pals Super Shields have made a difference in my output but are also a thousand times more comfortable that regular flanges. Plus you can recline while pumping without spilling breastmilk everywhere! I was gifted these by a friend at my shower and I was skeptical about them living up to the Amazon reviews hype but I am definitely happy to have them.

I used this milk collection thing while breastfeeding. I also pumped so I was saving milk in the freezer. I'd just dump the 1 oz or so into a bag after every feeding.

Alternatively, there are milk catchers that can be put in fitted shirts for probably less bulk.

I've actually been able to collect a bottle's worth (4-5 ounces) over the course of the day using a Milk-Saver

I pump when my LO falls asleep after only one boob. He's currently going through a growth spurt so he's been eating every two hours so I don't have much time to get a good pump in, but when I get him back on the Baby Whisperer EASY schedule, it'll be easier to find time to pump during the day.

Also try the Milk Saver, it is easier to tuck into your shirt than the let down catcher.

They make a bag that will somehow attatch to the nipple so you can save that milk. I found them in Amazon.
