Oh man, buying someone who is into fountain pens a fountain pen without knowing anything about what the person likes is a Herculean task.

You may be better off buying some fountain pen ink and notebooks. Maybe look for some special edition inks like Montblanc The Beatles Psychadelic Purple and a couple nicer notebooks.

If you’re bent on getting him a pen, search eBay for a restored Sheaffer snorkel. You can probably get something for about $100 with a gold nib and, if the boss doesn’t have any they will think it is cool - and if they do have one, they’re probably already addicted.

I got a beautiful black Sheaffer Saratoga for $80 with a matching pencil. Not a white dot, but in beautiful condition.

This is really awesome, what a fun piece of art.

In case you didn't know there is actually a Beatles ink that Montblanc made (they also made a couple pens for them, but they are very expensive and not my cup of tea) The ink looks really nice, but pricey.
