Drink lots of water. When I feel it coming on I start taking these:

I take 6/day... 2 with each meal. Maybe it's placebo or just the water, but feel like it helps!

See, I think where you're at is rock bottom, which on some level is good. I was there a month or so ago, you can find that post here. And while I won't argue that a vegetarian diet is ideal for gout, I personally feel you can live a normal, gout-free life without going vegetarian if you work out and make smarter meal choices.
You CAN go out to eat with your coworkers because there are better choices available:
Sure it sucks, but I think you're with me when I say that the pain you experience from a flare up is much worse than settling on a grilled chicken sandwich instead of a burger.
And I hate to say it, you'll probably experience a couple flare ups along the way because it's a learning experience. Pho is growing in popularity around here, and like you, I'm finding out that it's not something I can personally eat (likely because of beef bone broth), so oh well, I'll order something else or learn to make a gout friendly pho at home. I'll live.
Keep plugging away. Gout is your body telling you that you need to make changes and get healthy; even if you do end up on a daily medication, don't lose site of the health issues.
EDIT // Frozen cherries can be a little pricey, so I've been taking a cherry/celery seed extract that I found on Amazon that I've added to my standard routine.
Add low/no Fructose to your list, Fructose is processed in the liver and the waste-product is Uric Acid.I know this is not what your asking, but as an easier on the system option, I take Ibuprofen and these two over the counter options.

This will limit my flare-ups to 3 days.
