My dogs wear this style of collar (with ID tags) around the house, which I picked to prevent the fluffier dog's fur from matting. They wear these all the time at home unless crated, and if we're going somewhere I switch out for a regular collar that has ID tags, plus their registration and rabies tags. It's really reassuring to know that if they ever slipped out the door or got out of the fence somehow they would still have tags with my contact info.
I use a seresto collar on Leia, with an id collar like this one https://www.amazon.com/National-Leash-Thin-Mountain-Collar/dp/B01IJ7U9U6 It's thin enough that her fur slides over it.
I use a harness for walking, so don't need a collar for that.
