I purchased these pouches for my O3DS and N3DS and they fit snugly well. You can carry two cartridges and it fits a stylus.

I bought this -

After doing a pretty good amount of searching this was my favorite option, plus $12 really isn't that bad. I do wish there were more options for the regular n3ds.

I recently got this case from Power A and it's perfect. It's actually one of the very first, original 3DS accessories, which is why it's so cheap now. Many of the sleeve-style cases for the original 3DS will work just fine. Clear shells aren't my thing, so I haven't looked for any of those, but I know how frustrating it can be to search for this stuff on Amazon and eBay, given the weird naming convention.

Congrats on getting the $99 3DS! I just barely managed to get one myself, haha. I was slightly paranoid just carrying it around the store before checkout with how crazy people were acting. =p I bought this case for it at Gamestop. It was clearanced out for next to nothing if they have them at your nearby store. It fits the system perfectly and has a very professional look to it if you're interested.

One of the best cases I've ever had for a handheld. It's sleek yet simple, I like it just for that reason!

Ocarina of Time 3D will keep you entertained for hours and hours. Street Fighter IV is also fun, but gets boring after a while unless you play online. Turn on most if not all of your Streetpass features on, as they don't happen very often (depending on where you live). Download Nintendo Video for free from the eShop, as it has Spotpass updates every once in a while. I also recommend buying this official Nintendo 3DS case. If you don't like a lot of the currently released titles, watch out for some of the games to be released. Have fun with it!

As an older male i like my executive case its not perfect (specifically the curve of the flap) but its has a mature style and holds 2 extra games, which is all i need.

Carrying Case

I bought this one and I like it because it is cheap, inexpensive, holds 2 cartridges and the 3DS securely and doesn't have a large footprint. It is very portable and can be placed in any bag. It is a minimalist approach to carrying your 3DS around and I am a minimalist kind of guy.

I have one of these. It says it only holds 2 games but I double down and fit 4 into the case + a game in the 3ds itself. haven't lost a game yet

This is what I use now. It's pretty good but I'm gonna buy this one as soon as it launches.

I use this case for my new 3DS. It's meant for original 3DS but the new one still fits fine. It has space for 2 games and the build quality is pretty good.

I found this at GameStop on clearance for $10 along with screen protectors and a car charger.

Yeah, I think you'll be happy with it when you hold it for yourself. You can rest easy those concerns about it being too small for someone with big hands.

The balance between the top and bottom pieces of the system is much more even on the standard size compared to the XL and, to me, it's more comfortable to hold especially if I'm playing while lying down or something.

I'm more into the matte finish as well and tbh I really don't care about screen size at the end of the day. 3DS has such a great library but they aren't HD graphics or anything so I don't notice after awhile. I played a 2DS for a couple months and the tiny screens on that didn't really matter to me all that much. (The XL screens make the games look less crisp in my experience.)

When I'm in the mood for great graphics, I play on PS4 or PC.

...a review on Amazon says that it's for the old 3DS but is a bit elastic and can snugly fit the n3ds.

I got this one. Works fine for me.

Here's the protective case that I have for my 3DS. Overall it has a -very- snug fit and is made out of very soft silicon.

The outside of the case has cutouts for the game card slot, the cameras and red eye light, charging port, volume slider, wireless slider, shoulder buttons, and the headphone jack. The 3DS slips in to the top section which covers most of the top portion with cutouts for the speakers, inner camera and the 3D slider. The bottom section has two flaps that slip over the corners and leaves most of the inside open so that there is no silicon covering the d-pad and the buttons. Make sure to check the cases you're looking at because many of them lack cutouts for essentials like the cameras or the charging port or have a full silicon sleeve for the bottom section that covers the d-pad and buttons.

As for carrying cases I would suggest anything from Hori or Power A. Both brands have large selections and pretty decent build quality. I'm thinking about getting this travel case from Power A. Right now I'm stuck with the one that came included in the Pokemon Black DSi bundle. Nothing says elementary school better than padded plastic :)

EDIT: Too tired to type properly and be coherent. PSS, do you have a link to the silicon case you were looking at? I'd like to compare.

Yup. I use the Nintendo Licensed Executive Case. Holds a spare stylus and a couple of carts. Keeps my 3DS safe from scratches in my backpack and it looks snazzy as fuck :p

u/PeekyChew · 1 pointr/3DS

The official case is pretty good. It's not too thick and can store two games plus the one in the 3DS. Might be a bit hard to find, though.
