That is something I considered, which was a big factor in deciding on a slightly different approach. I'm going with these for the CAT-5E end points (one with BNC pig-tail and the other with female BNC connectors), and power will be run from an outlet at the remote end instead with the normal four-way splitter (that looks like this) that can with these cameras, via short BNC-and-power cables to the cameras from there, all nicely mounted inside.

This way I don't have to worry about power coming up the line from the house (from where the DVR is) but instead using a plug closer to the cameras.)

Would you say this is a much better scenario?
