I have these. They're okay. Realistically plates bigger than 25s can't really fit on them for most exercises, but they can handle about 6 25s per handle. I can do snatches with 25s on without banging my wrist, but farmers carries with them annoy me because of how the plates bang into my legs. Spacers can fix that, moving the plate further down the handle, but that reduces the capacity (though 45s or 35s might actually fit on them for farmers carries) Palms out bilateral side press and bench press also get kind weird because of how long they are. I also wish the sleeve wasn't so smooth. The collars can kind of work their way slightly loose. It's not that common, I only notice it on dumbbell floor press, and I think it's the weird bridging motion I have to do wrestle them into position for that stresses them. I haven't noticed it on goblet squats (but I also don't goblet very heavy).

How safe are adjustable dumbbells specifically Olympic ones? I'm only using generic Olympic collars...I can now put up to 6x10lb plates on each side, was just reading that their not as safe as sleeves but sleeves are pricey and inconvenient. Not a true concern yet as I'm not strong at the moment yet.

Given I'd only be using it for bench, shoulder press, rows and shrugs....nothing like chest pullovers, triceps overhead or hammer curls where the dumbbell is vertical....Still, when I kick up for shoulders or chest as well as perform the motion, I guess I'm really relying on those collars so the weight doesn't drop nor collapse on my face

You just need plates and you can get pretty fucking heavy with these, also known as top quality. and you can use the same weight for barbells later if you want.
