You can blindly buy this. It's excellent for a beginner. I've been using this for the last 7 years or so and it still works fine. You can replace the heads as and when needed.
There are higher models by oral b too but they come with bells and whistles which you might look for when you are upgrading. I've got coupon codes for the pro 600 model if you are interested.
