A compromise of very light, but still has pockets and pitzips (and what I just bought): Montbell Versalite...sucks that you have to order directly from Montbell....I much prefer getting free shipping and free returns to try on different sizes
I would get one of these. $100 depending on your size and color, roughly 6 oz. Your waterproof stuff spends 99% of the time in your pack, so it may as well be light.
I have that jacket and it works great. It won't hold up to serious abuse, but for on-trail hiking in the spring/summer/fall it'll do just fine. I also have a significantly more expensive Arcteryx shell made of goretex, and there's not much difference. I bring the Arcteryx in winter and on climbing trips because I bought it in a size larger to cover more layers, it's a bit burlier to hold up against bushwhacking, ice, pointy things, hood big enough for a helmet, etc. For most backpacking and hiking trips, the OR is a better option for me.
