A more budget friendly option to look into is something like the Acer V15 Nitro for $915. It has an all black aluminum build that isn't too gaudy looking. It also has pretty decent specs with a quad core i7-6700HQ processor, 960M graphics card, 8gb of ram and a 1TB HDD. The ram and storage are also upgradable. It's 960M will work fine for most games on the market (and excel with light games like Overwatch), but more graphic intensive games will have to have settings turned down. It also isn't too heavy, has a full 1080p IPS display, and an okay battery life.

If you don't think you'll need a quad core but still want a bit of gaming potential (fine for light / moderate games), the ASUS K501 would work fine. It only has a dual core processor though, which may struggle with more CPU intensive games. It has a pretty sleek appearance though, and it's much lighter than most gaming laptops at 4.4 pounds.

On more powerful machines, you could look into the Gigabyte P55W for $1250. It also has a mostly black aluminum exterior with a few white highlights. It is more powerful with a quad core i7-6700HQ processor, 16gb of ram, 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, and a GTX 1060 graphics card. You could easily play any game on the market with this, and only will top intensity games have to be played with reduced settings.

And if you want something at the top of your budget, maybe look into the Clevo Prostar for $1600. It is also pretty sleek when the RGB backlit on the keyboard is turned off. It has similar specs to the gigabyte but with a GTX 1070 graphics card which is ~50% more powerful than the 1060. It's not completely necessary, but if you're really looking for a machine with a ton of power and you can spare the money, it may be worth looking into.

Look at either this Eluktronics P650RP6 or this Gigabyte P55Wv6-PC3D.... They both are two very decent machines that will do a fantastic job for you in terms of performance. They both have the i7 quad core skylake processor, 16 GB RAM AND 8 GB RAM respectively , as well as fast SSDs and importantly, the GTX 1060 graphics card. None of them is flashy looking from outside and you can always customize the keyboard lights of the Eluktronics or even turn it off.... The Eluktronics will do better at video editing, thanks to it's 16 GB RAM...

This is about $100 lower than it usually is. That UHD display is nice just be aware you'll have to run most newer games in non-native res on it, and occasionally you'll have to make sure apps scale correctly (Adobe in particular).

If you're looking to game, be aware you can get GTX 1060 (full 6GB version) around this price with a good FHD display instead.

I run a Gigabyte with a 1060. ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KB8RB3E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481569387&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=gigabyte+p55+gtx+1060&dpPl=1&dpID=31KyrzjOZ0L&ref=plSrch ) runs the game really well, but does run a bit warm, I would recommend a cooking pad. You can pick up one similar to this with a 1060 for around $1k-$1100 on sale.

1 left in stock (should be the same product but at a different price)

In the laptop space I would definitely go for 1070 - on a keeper it's worth it since the card can't be swapped later (though I would search for a better deal) and if you're going to return it the extra cash for a few days would probably be worth the hassle savings.

That being said, Amazon does have this one w/ a 1060 for 1099 right now.. that's a pretty big chunk of change difference.

Thanks for the response. Aesthetics are actually a big part of my purchasing decision, and I really do not like the look of the GL502VM, it is too flashy. I think I am going to purchase this Gigabyte instead. What do you think?
