/u/soradoge - do you really need a still camera? If not, for less than $4000, I recommend a [$3795 Panasonic AG-DVX200 4K/60p camcorder] (https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-AG-DVX200-4K-Handheld-Camcorder/dp/B016043JWA//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) instead of a GH5.

This camera has the same sized sensor as the GH5, plus important features the GH5 lacks, e.g.:

  • built-in ND filters
  • built-in pro XLR inputs
  • V-LOG straight out of the box
  • a 13x power zoom

    This is a much better camera for run and gun street shooting than any still/video camera or the BMCC.

    In my view, this camcorder would make your life a lot easier than shooting with a still camera rigged up for video.

If you want to keep the camcorder style, the DVX200s sound great. If you want to switch things up a bit, you could get 2 Sony A7sii and a few lenses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

There's a lot that goes into a lens than just optical zoom, which may explain why high-end camcorders have less optical zoom than others. Many parameters are in play so it's difficult to answer that question.

Maybe consider the DVX200? It has 13x optical zoom and a lot of nice pro features.
