If you are not familiar with Plasti Dip, the way it works is just like spray paint, with the added ability to be able to peel it off whenever you want. This particular color is a translucent black, and you can put as many coats on as you want to get the desired darkness.
I used Plasti Dip Smoke (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007TO3Z02). Did about 5-6 lite coats. Makes a bigger difference on the chrome front and rear badges.
Crazy idea: spray the glass tubes with a few coats of Plastidip smoke to darken them?
