Exactly. Thankfully I could use the smart plugs elsewhere, so it wasn't a lost purchase, but you are going to have some difficulty finding a modern electric heater that doesn't require you to physically turn it on. Its one of the many safety features on these things. That being said, when I clicked on your amazon link, another suggested item popped up for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FFZRRB2/ref=dp_cerb_2 . That one would most likely work.
Still, space heaters are very expensive to run. Your electric bill will go up significantly if you are using this every day for a few hours. Do you have central heat in your house? Do you experience extreme cold winters? It may be worth it to look into getting a heat pump. It would heat a much larger area at a lower cost and there are many incentives and rebates to look into that significantly lower the cost of installation. And in the summer, you'd have AC too.

Figure out what you want to be able to do, then pick a set of steps between where you are now, and that goal. Work on the *first* step--maybe it's just having sex with *outside* the covers (get a little space heater like this https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Breeze-Operating-Adjustable-Thermostat/dp/B07FFZRRB2/ for your room--we use one in the winter, we just turn it off when done). Maybe the next step is just having sex outside the covers with a single lamp on--not bright, but enough to see. Do each of the steps until you're comfortable with it. Then eventually you'll get where you want to be.
