I also use something similar to this to mount it to my rearview mirror. It is wonderful to not have a cord hanging or suction cup in my windshield that falls off when the weather changes.

I'm using a 9500ix for radar, no dash cam. I would say this (looks like you have a 2017 STi) - if you have the homelink mirror, you should know most mirror taps won't work on our mirrors now, unless you pull the back half of the mirror off. My 2016 WRX homelink mirror could use the linked tap, but I guess they changed the mirrors for the 2017 STi...? Anyways, I just wired it across the headliner, down the A-pillar, and over to the fuse box to cut on when the radio is on...works great. I would have gone with the Redline from Escort if they had GPS on it - the Max2 just wasn't worth the extra $150-$200 IMO.

I have a Peztio (got it on sale, cheap). I ran the wires tucked above the headliner, down and around under the dash. Currently just using the cigarette lighter but might hardwire the next cam. I don't see this one as a long term item - too many buttons, kind of a pain to remember which do what.
I do have my radar hardwired in. Used a kit that hardwires into the mirror power supply via needle like ends. No splicing, comes on with the car. I'm not sure if you can find one of these for whatever camera you end up getting. Kit: Amazon Link
