THIS is the type of track he's talking about. And THESE are what the flexible ice scratchers look like. These ones allow you to drive in reverse without having to put them up. The other style look like THIS. Driving backwards with them will break them as they are stiff.

You should also take the sled to your dealer so they can check the clutch spring and weights to make sure they are suitable for riding around your area. Typically the elevation range for the clutch weights and springs you would need for your area is 0-5000 feet. With the sled at the dealer they can also hook the sled up to their computer to run a diagnostic to ensure everything is working properly.

The price for the smaller lug track is roughly 600-900 depending on where you can get it. I know that in the group I ride with a couple people have the 155 RMKs and the 2 inch lug track and they do just fine on the trail. One thing to remember however is that because the TUNNEL of the sled is longer there is more you need to keep cool. The cooling system runs under it and the snow being thrown up at it works to cool the sled. So what you can do is every so often go to the edge of the trail where the groomer pushed snow up and drive about 40 feet in it. The loose snow will be thrown easier to cool the sled. Your ice scratchers also do this but sometimes the sled gets hot anyways. It is always a good idea to keep the temperature gauge up on a mountain sled when riding it on the trail.
