I've used it on smokers that had gaps and would leak smoke/heat. It's stove gasket rope and cement, same stuff that helps seal your stove heat in. For something like your wood smoker, you could put the cement in the cracks, and then push this gasket rope into the seam nice and hard so it forms a tight seal.

My smoker was leaking smoke/heat quite a bit from some gaps it had at the doors, I put this all around the frame, doesn't leak a bit now and holds all the heat. This would probably work wonders for sealing the gaps on any of these wood smokers.

You need 5/16" gasket w/wire mesh. Amazon has some for sale, or you can try your local hearth store. You will also need gasket cement.
