We have a waterproof mattress pad on our bed. It's got fabric around it so it doesn't rustle and crinkle like plastic, and the top layer absorbs liquids so it doesn't spread around like it would if the top layer were plastic.

We have it to keep our mattress free of pet accidents (my dog's a cancer survivor and has some issues from it) but it's the best 45 bucks I've spent. It's similar to this one, it might actually be the same one.

As a female that squirts every time and can't help it, I can totally understand how she feels. It's not that common (chances are none of her friends do, so she feels like the odd one) and it doesn't get talked about much. And some guys don't like it or get freaked out by it, so she may have had a bad experience with a previous partner.

Reassure her... A LOT. That you like it/find it arousing. Also, that you don't care about any potential mess. By the way, Amazon has this amazing mattress cover that is worth every penny. Reassure her that she is normal - studies have shown that potentially about 45% of women experience this at some time, if not regularly.

Some tips I can share that may also help if she really wants to avoid it, because even if she gets to the point where she's ok with it, there's some days where you know there's gonna be some frisky time, but don't wanna deal with that mess. Drink lots of fluids earlier in the day if you're anticipating evening frisky times, but cut back around 4pm. Start with LOTS of foreplay. Whatever amount of time you're thinking, triple it. As you're getting closer to it, take a break - opportunity to go run to the bathroom real quick. Sometimes I'll forget about it and hubby will make a point of taking a bathroom break so that I remember to as well.

But overall, take time to discuss this OUT of the bedroom. Try to find out what about it is making her feel self-conscious so that maybe you guys can work through the underlying issue together.

I wouldn't call the product a BIFL but I had one that lasted about 5 years before I got rid of it when my ex took the cat. It was pretty easy to wipe clean most of the time with some water and non bleach cleaner (didn't want to accidentally bleach the bed sheets)

yeah you get used to it and I no longer notice it, Im not sure if thats because its broken in now or I dont notice it. it might be better if you put a mattress protector on it as well.

This is the one I have:

Im not sure how different the chillipad or ooler feel, its basically the same technology (tubes under a pad)

Prednisone gave me night sweats that got even worse after I tapered. This waterproof mattress cover is great. I honestly cannot tell it's on. I don't need it right now but we leave it on because there's no reason to remove it.

It's not a child mattress.

It's a waterproof cover - similar to what you'd use with a kid. Here's an example.

Hey there, I'm sorry for the stress that you're going through. I totally understand the frustrations of it all. My husband and I had the same problems with the second cat we adopted. We're lifers when it comes to our animals but honestly this cat was exhausting us and we were on the brink of giving up on him because getting woken up constantly by cat piss is the worst.

After trying everything we eventually got a prescription for Prozac, and although it sucks shoving a pill down his throat everyday (I suggest a pill popper) it solved the problem!

And this mattress cover is great!

After seeing someone recommend it on baby bumps, I bought this one:

It's been working great. Less than $40, No sound, feels soft, keeps sheets from pulling off bed and had good reviews.
