Loving the Tablet so far. Picture is amazing.
After briefly using OneNote. It seems very nice. Love the fact that you can record sections of the lecture, and then it automatically places the recording in the relevant part of the notes.
i see the air 2 at 60 dollars cheaper than the galaxy tab s 10.5
i wouldn't call that exorbitantly expensive... especially since the ipad air 1 is only 70 dollars cheaper than the air2

Galaxy Tab S 10.5 - £325
iPad Air 1 - £282
iPad Air 2 - £353
The iPad Air 1 and 2 are comparable to the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 hardware wise. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is right in between the Air 1 and Air 2 price wise.
Galaxy Tab 4 10" is not a fair comparison as that's only a 1280x800 resolution screen and much older/slower CPU/GPU. The fair comparison to that would be an iPad 2 with older CPU and 1024x768 screen, but they don't sell that anymore.
Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is 2560x1600 screen and iPad Airs are 2048x1536.
Same with the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini 2 and 3 have 2048x1536 screen, similar to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 with 2560x1600 screen.
Galaxy Tab S 8.4 - £239
iPad Mini 2 - £215
iPad Mini 3 - £285
Galaxy Tab 4 7" does not have a comparable 7" iPad.
The Galaxy Tab 4 8" is the comparable to the iPad Mini screen size. But the Galaxy Tab 4 8" is 1280x800 which is comparable to the iPad Mini 1 1024x768.
Galaxy Tab 4 8 - £179
iPad Mini 1 - £171
Both are same price again as you can see.

Even the iPad 1 is faster than the Galaxy Tab S models. The Air 2 is even faster yet.
Plus there is overall app ecosystem. iPad apps seem to have better design and look than Android tablet apps. Then there is hardware design. Also if you have an iPhone then it can work very close with a iPad (look up iOS 8 continuity and handoff features), like answering a phone call on your iPad so there is some added value there in features.
I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 with LOS.
Works for me.
