For me I bought both Samsung dual wireless chargers, the OG 1st model with the upright stand on the left as a bedside charger as well as the newer all flat model.
If you have a phone that is able to wireless charge & use that function then I would go with the 1st gen Samsung Duo charger. As you can find it for much cheaper than the new model (new one goes for about $100 brand new). On Amazon you can find the 1st gen Samsung Duo Charger for $61.24 new on Amazon. So that will save you $40 compared to getting the newer model. What I did was price match Amazon's price when I went into Best Buy months ago as its sold directly by Amazon, so didn't have to wait for shipping lol
You also might be able to find it even cheaper on ebay as an open box or slightly used.

What wireless charger are you using? Look at the finer specs on the charger. Good chargers come with 2 or more coils, that allow for more flexible placement. For example, the Samsung wireless charger that was released with the S8 came with 3 charging coils, which meant that you could place a phone within a reasonable margin and still have it charge without fussing over exact placement. On the other hand, the charger released alongside the S9 dropped it down to 2 coils (scroll roughly a third of the way down this page to see a table), which is still decent. Many other brand chargers use just a single coil, and these can require fine positioning of your phone (i.e. down to a few mm).
u/xAshtan is also right in saying the case might be an issue. I don't know which specific case you have, but when I looked at this case, there is a question around wireless charging, where one user states it doesn't work for them, and one user seems to indicate it works fine. Otterbox's own description doesn't mention anything about wireless charging, so I'm not that confident that it is supported :(
Can you try your phone without the case to see if the placement is still a problem? That might narrow it down to whether its the charger or the case.
Regarding the Qi charger for a watch... I use the dual charger from Samsung. Charges both my Note 8 and my Galaxy Watch. Also charges my iPhone 8+ (work phone).
