Hey everyone.

I bought a 2nd hand 50gb SATA3 SSD on ebay for like £15 and my PC was just SO much quicker after installing Windows on it. But i need to upgrade as i'm constantly getting messages that my drive is full.

Which leads me to the current situation. My motherboard a Sabertooth X58 doesn't support some of the newer form factors of the really new SSD cards one i've been looking at is the SanDisk 500G - Extreme PRO 500 GB M.2 NVMe 3D SSD, currently £90 on Amazon.

I know this SSD isn't compatible with my X58 but have found this device PCI-E 3.0 which would facilitate the new drive.

So anyway, my question would be to anyone reading this is, is everything compatible with the parts I've posted? Would this be what you would do in my situation, would you prefer to see a standard SATA SSD in the setup?

Thanks in advance

EDIT

After a bit of research, the X58 doesn't support NVME.

Thanks to /u/OolonCaluphid and /u/Protonio for their advice.

I will be looking to fit a standard SATA SSD!
