2004 4Runner with JBL and RDS and Diversity antenna. I installed a Pioneer AVH5600-BHS. Here's the solution:
Adapter:
Y-Cable:
I did a Sony XAV-AX100 + Scosche kit + Metra harness + Metra antenna adapter + another adapter + Metra ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Controls + backup camera.
To be clear, it was kinda a bitch to get it all installed and working but 100% worth it now. Shoutout to /u/bon_temps for the camera link and advice, looks completely factory once installed.
Well now that you mention it.. I plugged everything in today to test it out and the radio powered on. I can play a CD over the one speaker that I have. But the radio is all static. I read somewhere that all GM model 88 and up need and antenna adapter like this http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-Mda-B-Micro-Antenna-Adapter/dp/B00009UHRI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421898533&sr=1-1&keywords=gm+micro+tip in order to connect the antenna.. The antenna seemed to fit in the stereo's plug fine but maybe this could be what I am missing?
Yes, you need a splitter and adapter. I just did this on my 4th Gen last weekend.
