I think the blunderbuss is unlocked by buying a hard drive. Not sure about the sniper and the hook though. I haven't heard anything about those.

Edit: Yep. Here is a link to the hard drive that unlocks the blunderbuss. Too bad it's over a hundred bucks and I have no need for a hard drive.

As far as I know they aren't currently on sale.
The HDD can be preordered on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HKPBX5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_e61FAb7JX3WTR

The charging stand can be pre-ordered here: https://controllergear.com/index.php/sea-of-thieves-limited-edition-xbox-pro-charging-stand.html

The $15 non charging stand (not really sure anyone needs this, if you can't justify spending $50 in the charging stand spending $15 on a piece of plastic seems silly to me, but hey lol) can be pre-ordered here:

And just as a side note, the controller and the HDD come with ingame unlocks (outfit for controller, Blunderbuss skin for the HDD). The charging and regular stand don't have any in game content tied to them.

Comes with the SoT Xbox One Seagate external drive.. figured I might as well order it for a nice looking 2TB external to keep for the laptop for my games storage.

I'm a tiny bit late replying, but I just found this comment and must admit I am really curious how this works technically.

Apparently 4K at 60fps works out to 6MB/s (not Mbps) of consistent read throughput.

Some careful use of search queries turned up https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Thieves-Special-Portable-External/dp/B078HKPBX5 and https://www.seagate.com/au/en/consumer/play/game-drive-xbox/?sku=STEA2000411; the first link shows that the disk is indeed 5400RPM, but the 2nd concretely states that it can do "up to 140MB/s".

Even leaving a large bit of room for that "up to", 140MB/s is still quite far away from 6MB/s.

"O.o?"

The only explanations I can come up with are

  • (unlikely) there's some kind of 512byte/4K sector conversion thing going on (to appease the XBOne in some way) and there's an optimized way for the firmware to do this that loses 100GB

  • the disk is using the 100GB closest to the center of the platter as an ever-so-slightly-faster scratch area for content, so the head moves around less

  • there's actually a 100GB hidden SSD cache? (okay probably not)

There's clearly a good reason why the 100GB is lost, not questioning that. I'm fascinated to understand the engineering :D. As best as I can determine, this somehow has to do with balancing wear/lifespan/USB voltage level/drive speed/??? against consistent read speed.

^((NB. I found this thread by poking through your account, which I found after discovering the Seagate group buy thing. That was a good idea, I hope you can refine and retry it in future. FWIW, if you ever need to fill the spot of "worst case scenario" with needing some refurbished HDDs, look no further - average age of the tech I've received is ~a decade old, and nothing has had the space to store everything. Learning/cognitive difficulties when I was younger made it impossible to keep up with the ensuing mess of duplicates. 15+ years on, the snowball will unfortunately require TBs of space to deduplicate. The latest news is that apparently I'll be moving house before I can save anything... yay. Hopefully all the cute old 200MB/1GB/4GB relics don't bounce around in the truck too much... AMA? :P))

Stand won't be coming to EU until further notice, it's been confirmed by the manufacturer. You'll have to buy from the US online.
